To consider the suitability of an existing Hackney Carriage/Private Hire driver.

Resolved that the press and public may be asked to leave the meeting during consideration of the following item on the grounds that it involved the disclosure of information relating to an individual defined as exempt by paragraphs 1 & 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

The Chair welcomed everyone to the hearing and explained the procedures that would be followed.

The Sub-Committee considered the Licensing Officer’s report and heard from the Officer, the Driver and their employer. After hearing all the evidence they retired to make their decision in private, in the presence of the Solicitors and the Committee Manager.

Decision

It was the decision of the Sub-Committee that no further action would be taken against the Driver, save reminding them that even when off duty their actions and behaviour were representative of their profession and their employer.
