Appointment of Chair

To appoint a Chair from elected members of the Committee.

Minutes:

It was proposed by Councillor Hazel Prior-Sankey that Councillor Pauline Ham be elected as Chair of the Officer Appeals Committee. It was seconded Councillor Tony Grimes. The motion was passed.

Apologies for Absence

To receive any apologies for absence.

To receive and note any declarations of interests in respect of any matters included on the agenda for consideration at this meeting.

Public Question Time

The Chair to advise the Committee of any items on which members of the public have requested to speak and advise those members of the public present of the details of the Council’s public participation scheme.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

The committee are requested to consider and agree a resolution under Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 that the press and public be excluded during the remainder of the meeting on the basis that if they were present during the business to be transacted there would be a likelihood of disclosure to them of exempt information of the following description:

·       Information relating to any individual

·       Information which is likely to reveal the identity of any individual

The Committee requested to consider and agree a resolution under Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 that the press and public be excluded during the remainder of the meeting on the basis that if they were present during the business to be transacted there would be a likelihood of disclosure to them of exempt information of the following description:

·       Information relating to any individual

·       Information which is likely to reveal the identity of any individual

This motion to enter confidential session was proposed by Councillor Pauline Ham and seconded by Councillor Tony Grimes. The motion was passed.

Appeal against Dismissal

To hear and determine an appeal by an employee against dismissal. This report will be confidential and available only to elected Members.

The Committee proceeded to consider the information presented with officers providing advice as appropriate.
